Default Maytag MTB2156GEW update

Okay, my repair is complete and I thought I would add some detail and maybe someone can help. I replaced the evaporator fan and the unit has returned to normal operating condition. Again, this is my third evaporator fan in less than three years. The fan is in a bracket and is held in place by two rubber grommets, one on the front and one on the rear. These grommets are part of the spinning component of the fan. The grommet is between the bracket (which does not move) and the spinning part of the fan (front and rear). Could it be that the motor is burning out because of this design? Is there something I can do that would increase the life of the motor if so?

Also, the freezer door dripped a LOT of water once the unit was turned off. Is this normal? What should I do to fix it if not?

This is very rare to happen, I myself have never needed to replace the evaporator fan motor more than once on this model Maytag.

Sorry, I don't know why yours would need so many evaporator motors replaced.

Default More evaporator fan woes

Thanks to this forum I'm pretty sure I am suffering from the same Maytag evaporator fan problem. This fan motor was only replaced less than two years ago, but it's cutting in and out now and making very strange noises.
My Maytag is a top-freezer PTB model, but seems to have the same pathological problem. Guess I'll have to shell out another 50 bucks. At least this time I know how to replace it myself.

Thanks all.
Rob
