    Default F1-8 Jenn air..Touch pad??

    Model Number: jes9800aab
    Brand: Jenn-Air

    Bought this house 1.5 yr ago so i know the warranty is out. I also dont know the actual date of this range (I'm sure the Ser# tells me that)? I searched and it seems that the touchpad is bad with fault code F1-8, yes the burners work but not the oven. Are we sure it the touchpad?? I've done no trouble shooting yet. I'm a service tech (on pool motors and automated chemical controls which also have PCB's needing replacing) so i very comfortable with this type work. Do you have a tech manual for my unit, etc? THANKS!

    Yes, this indicates a bad control panel.

    Thanks so much Jake, I'll perform a bit of trouble shooting....Checking Ribbon Cable connections etc. Looks like i'll be ordering a new touch pad. Thanks again.

    I'll post up my results ASAP.

    Well, the part finally arrived...been on backorder. I replaced it..no issues when doing so.

    Problem: I now have F1-E code. control not calibrated. What can i do?? There has to be some type troubleshooting to do on this...not just be a "parts swapper"?

    F1-E Control not calibrated. Replace control.

    So it sounds like you had 2 problems, now you will need to order the control board.

    Here's the control board for your model you can order here:

    There has to be some type troubleshooting to do on this...not just be a "parts swapper"?
    True, but I did post the tech. data sheet above for all the troubleshooting and error codes.

    Thats exactly what I use on appliances that I go out on.

    So your choices are to replace the control board, or return the control panel for a FULL refund and buy a new range.
