Hi,

**My washer as described won't agitate**

What happens instead? The washer is dead during the agitate mode, the filling water never quits filling, the washer runs in the agitate mode but no movement from the agitator??

Any strange noises/odours?

jeff.

What about spinning?

Brand new, installed in an attempt to correct this immediate problem or just installed some time recently??

You replaced the whole assembly including the fuse (see the following link) or just the switch part of it separately??

Dan o

The lid switch has been a problem. My wife was using a screwdriver to depress it to make washer work. In recent days in addition to the switch problem, we noticed that the washer would fill with the correct temp water to the right level. The timer then moved but the washer never agitated. as the timer moved past the wash rinse spin cycle you could hear it trying to pull in or something as it made a clicking type of noise. I know the timer clicks, but this was a different type of click like it was trying to start to agitate etc.. At the end of the cycle, the clothes are still sitting in the water.

If I slowly turn the timer, the washer will pump the water out and spin. I bought the switch yesterday and put it in. Iwas told by counter man that the timer was probably the problem and he would have to order one this Monday. I found this website and now am aware that the level switch may be the problem. What do you think? Thanks for replying!

Hi,

Once the washer fills with water and the water stops, does the timer move/advance? If yes the water level control is ok, if the timer does not move once the washer stops filling with water, the WLC and/or it's wiring should be checked.

If the filling water stops ok, the timer moves ok but no agitation/motion from the motor in the agitate mode.....we would normally remove the timer cover ( power off ) and do avisual testfor any blackened/burnt timer contacts. Kinda tough to do a power test on the timer itself so we often do adirect power cord testto the motor to confrim it is ok and can run in the agitation mode ( yours is a1 speed ).

If the motor passes and the WLC passes usually = new timer time.
