I have a Maytag LDE8704ACE electric dryer, just replaced the motor and now the dryer will not stop without opening the door. The timer knob has no effect, and I have to push the start button to start the dryer each time. It does not start up again after the door has been opened and then closed.
The heater changes heat based on the setting on temp. knob, regular, medium, delicate. Also when the timer gets to the end of the run the buzzer does not come on.

Hi, what was the dryer doing before you changed the motor?

This this new problem arise after you changed the motor? If so, you may have a wire or 2 on the wrong terminals of the motor.
