Default Side by Side model MSD2756GES leaks all the time

The fridge leaks water from the freezer onto the floor all the time. It has frozen ice on the bottom of the fridge compartment and when you try to get water from the door it leaks like crazy!

The icemaker is overflowing whenever you get water from the door, but it leaks all the time even with the water option locked out. Any ideas?

Thanks all!
Michael

Hi,

It sounds like your defrost drain is clogged, here is a link to help you unclog it, if you wanted to do-it-yourself.

Thanks for your help, Jake. The drain was indeed clogged and now is draining fine. I did have two more problems I am hoping you can help me with.

Whenever you get water out of the door, the hose going into the icemaker has water run through it and it overflows the icemaker. Water still comes out of the door, but you get some additional water that spills out of the fridge. This still happens after cleaning out the drain.

The second problem is the flap that lets the ice out of the door. When you go to get ice, the things makes a sound like it wants to open, but nothing happens. Ice backs up into the chute since it doesn't open.

All your help is very much appreciated!

Michael

The water inlet valve may be giving you trouble causing the water dispenser issue.

Then the solenoid, electronic board, or door spring/cam may be giving you the ice door flapper issue.

Is this the item number I need to replace the water inlet valve? Also, the copper water line is going straight into the water inlet valve, is this the way it is supposed to be?

Thanks!

On your model it looks like you have 2 water inlet valves, 1 that the copper hose connects, thats normal, then another one for the filter.

Try to confirm this by taking off the back access panel, and looking with a flashlight to see.

Also we will need the serial# so we find the right one,

Thanks,

Jake

On your model it should be on the top ceiling of the refrigerator, next to the model#.
