[FIXED] Maytage Performa Washer Constantly goes out of balance
Brand:
Maytag
Age:
More than 10 years
I have an older Maytag Performa washer that is constantly going out of balance. It started to be just occassionally, but is now going out of balance with about every load. The machine appears to be sitting level. Is there any adjustments that can be made or is something wearing out on the machine? Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
Kirk

Ok Kirk,
Here's the kit to fix it:
(comes with instructions):
Manufacturer part#12002701 is RepairClinic item#1164331

Its a major job to repair this, allow yourself half a day to install this kit.

Hi Jake: Thanks for your response. I do have one more question. Is it usually required to replace the base plate along with the springs and the snubber? I looked at the base plate in the machine and visually it looks ok to me. I'm just not sure if I can justify the expense of the entire base kit for a machine that is around 12 years old.

Its possible just the snubber will fix it then. Much cheaper.
Here's the snubber for this model:
Manufacturer part number 21002026 is RepairClinic item number 1055142
21002026
To change the snubber pad, springs come off, belt comes off, pump hose and WLC hose are removed and the whole assembly is lifted out to replace the snubber/damper ring. Area must be clean of any soap/water and oil.....a little corn starch can be used to lube the ring.
