Default Jenn Air Cooktop won't ignite

    Model Number: jgd8348cdp
    Brand: Jenn-Air
    Age: Less than 1 year

I have a large cooktop with 2 double inserts. On one of the inserts - one burner lights. On the other - only clicking. When clicking we can light the burner with a lighter. We are selling the home and need to fix it (the new owners won't like the lighter thing) I have soaked the inserts to get food off and think that was a bad idea, that was when they didn't work anymore. The home is in a remote area in another state up in the mountains and to get a repair guy there is super expensive. I am wondering if we order the part, maybe my husband can replace it and get the dang thing working.
Again, clicking, just no lighting or spark (on 3 of the burners) I have found places that I can order various parts, just don't know which part is supposed to be lighting the burner if there is spark and clicking.
Any help would be much appreciated!!! Thanks in advance, Karen

I overlooked the age bracket, it is 1-5 years old (probably 4yo)

    Hi Karen,

You will likely need a new insert cartridge assembly, I haven't worked on many of these models, but have changed a few cartridge assemblies on them. There are expensive though.

You could also try replacing just the burner igniters on those 3, less expensive but you have to take the burners off to do it.

I had a similar thing happen to me. My range is about 7 years old. It has four burners. The left side works fine; the right side clicks but does not light. I have not tried anything yet to fix it. Any ideas? Thanks!
