More Ice Maker Issues
Brand:
Jenn-Air
Age:
6-10 years
My ice maker seems to be occasionally trying to push cubes out before they are frozen. This is leading to ice buildup on the fingers and is leading to hollow ice cubes and jammed cubes in the ice maker causing ice to stop until the jam is noticed and cleared. Before I replace the ice maker I wanted to ask if this was indicative of an ice maker problem, or if there is a control board somewhere that would be causing the problem. Thanks again for all your help.

This happens sometimes if the ice maker doesn't get enough water. I think you're correct and it's the ice maker. Do you have a water filter and if so when was it last replaced? Here is the ice maker for your model:

Jake,
Thanks for the filter comment. I did get a new filter and it was obviously different flow-wise. It must have happened slowly, because I remembered after the new filter was in that it didn't always take as long to fill the water cups. It has been working perfectly with big ice cubes and fast water flow for 2 days now. Thanks for the catch.
