Water and ice despenser will not shut off
Brand:
Maytag
Age:
6-10 years
My older model Maytag side by side with door front ice/water despenser will not shut off when released. We end up with ice or water spilling over and onto the floor before it will shut off. Seems like the actuator switch may be sticking. If that's it, is it replacable?
Thanx!

I've run into this same problem several times before. The rubber gets streched and holds the switch in:

Fixed!
That was the problem. I was able to remove the panel cover and take the rubber cover off. It has a switch plunger on the back to activate the switch. The rubber was fatigued to the point it had lost it's "spring" ability. New part ordered!
Thanks for the help!
