Default Maytag MSD2758DRW ClimateZone Drawer Problem

    Model Number: MSD2758DRW
    Brand: Maytag
    Age: More than 10 years

    Greetings,

One of my ClimateZone Storage Drawers has a temperature control problem. The only way to keep the drawer from freezing its contents is to keep the drawer's temperature control turned off. Just today, the refrigerator started making a lot of noise which is coming from behind the same drawer. If I turn the drawer control on and of I can get the noise stop for a time and then it begins again. The noise sounds like something is hitting a fan blade. I cannot seem to find any Maytag parts diagrams that identify the controls or components related to the ClimateZone Storage Drawers.

Thank you in advance for any help that may be offered.

    JIM

    Greetings, Jake

Thank you for your response. I took the drawer assemblies out and apart and had to remove a lot of ice from the damper that the motor actuates. I think that the ice may have been a result of a prior problem with the defrost module in the freezer some time ago. The motor seemed to be working after I put everything back together and the temperature in the drawer seems to be stable. I will keep an eye on things and perhaps just leave the electrics for that drawer disconnected should it act up again.

    Kind regards,

    JIM
