Maytag MSD2756DEB Icemaker that won't function
Brand:
Maytag
Age:
6-10 years
I have a Maytag MSD2756DEB Icemaker that won't function. Removed the unit....made sure it was dry and clear....water comes through the door so I doubt that could be a water issue. Does it sound like I need a new unit? The arm is down so the maker is on....I did the paperclip jumper wire trick...nothing. Ideas?

When you removed the ice maker, was there ice in it and it won't dump it or was it empty (no ice). If it was empty you'll need to check the water valve

Tell me what trick you did. Maybe you didn't do it right 'cause you didn't get a shock.

MAytag MSD2756DEB Ice MAaker
Thanks for the response....I toiok a aperclip and shaped it into a U and put tape in the middle so I didn't get a shock...and inserted it into the N and V holes...I gues to reset the maker. Nothing happened...should I try other holes? I had removed the maker it self....dried it off completely using a hair dryer....and checked the hoses to be certain there was no frozen water anywhere....and the wire to the left is all the way down in the on position.
After thinking about this last night I waonder if it is the valve that goes to the ice maker. I read that where the water line comes in it separates into two lines...one water for drinking and the other for the icemaker. The water works fine...but there is no water to the ice maker.
Thanks, anyhting would be appreciated.
Have a nice afternoon...and Holiday!
Jim

OK if there were ice-cubes in the ice maker, the water valve is most likely good. If you want to force cycle the ice maker to start a harvest mode, try this; take a 2" piece of insulated wire and strip a half inch off each end. Bend it in the shape of a "U" Locate and short holes "T" and "H". Once the harvest cycle starts, remove the wire. Sounds like the ice maker is bad.

Maytag Ice Maker
Thanks for the response....I tried the cycling by using the paperclip jumper at the T and H holes....but it didn't cycle....or for that matter make any noise like it was even ready or thinking about cycling. Are there any other methods of cycling using the other ports?
Thanks, Jim
