Electric range control panel or electronic oven control?
Brand:
Jenn-Air
Age:
1-5 years
My customer says the control panel started to malfunction a while ago, i.e.. some of the touch pads wouldn't respond. Now none of them respond. The display is lit and shows "Power failure," which makes sense since he did turn power off and back on.
Here's my question: Is the problem with the control panel or with the electronic oven control? Which should I replace?

When the control panel buttons start not responding its usually the control panel itself thats bad.
Manufacturer's Number: W10206087

The clock still lights up? But you can't set anything on it due to the control panel buttons not working?

Yes, that's right. The clock lights up, but none of the control panel buttons work. So based on what you say, I'm going to order the control panel and not the EOC.
Thanks for responding.

Yesterday our Jenn Air gas convection oven electronic panel stopped responding to touch. After searching the internet I was dismayed to learn that this is a common problem with the Jenn Air product.
In hopes of resetting the panel we unplugged the unit for a few minutes - plugged it back in and the electronic control panel worked just fine. We will see how long this "fix" lasts.

Ok, yes, because usually if it does it once, it will do it again.
