Speed Queen Washer with a Loud Squeek
My Speed Queen top loader washer makes a loud squeek noise for about 10 to 15 seconds during every wash load. It seems to do it about 3 minutes into the wash and again before the rinse cycle. Again, it isn't constant, but it happens every load the same time. Anybody know what is going bad. It has been happening about two years now without change.
Also, I don't know whether Speed Queen belongs in Maytag, but the model AW392W2 shows to be Maytag.
Thanks

Hi,
How old is your Speed Queen, because i can't seem to get that model# to work.
You may have a bad belt or pump.

It is about 6 years old. I just replaced the belt and nothing changed. The thing that might be consistant is when it has just filled up with water, the load is at it's heaviest so it squeaks for ten seconds then goes away.
Thanks

Oh, i remember something about the brake pads slipping and causing this sound on the Amana's which were identical to the Speed Queens.
