Default Maytag Dishwasher Constant Blinking Light

I have a Maytag Dishwasher, Model# MDB6650. It is 5yrs old (2 months out of warranty). When I run a normal wash, it stops mid process and the light above "RINSE OFF" blinks constantly and the operation is stopped. If I open the door for a minute or so, the blinking light will go off.

I have tried "rinse only" cycle, and the same thing happens after about 6 minutes. The machine loads water; seems to operate normally and drains as usual. However, the drain pump seems to want to continue after the water has been evacuated. Could the pump be operating after there is no water to pump?

Do you have any suggestions?

Thanks,
Bill

Default More on the Maytag Dishwasher MDB6650AWB

Based upon past recommendations to others, I found the "Test Sheet" in the bottom panel of the dishwasher. I performed both the Automatic Function Test and the Field Service Test. After both tests were completed, there were no flashing indicator lights. So, I assume the problem is caused by something else.

Any recommendations?
Bill

Hi,

If the tests don't show any error, then you will probably need to call Maytag to have a service tech. come and check it.

Default Possible Maytag Flashing Light/Stuck Keypad Solution

I have a Maytag Dishwasher, Model# MDB7600. It is only 3yrs old. Recently at the end of the normal wash cycle the green light completion light comes on for a while and then goes off. The "rinse only" light comes on and the number 9 flashes as if the key had been pushed. The wash keys can sometimes be activated and with luck the dishwasher can be used.

The problem seems to be a poor connection between the ribbon cable from the keypad and the processor board. This fix was fairly simple--Turn off the power, remove the back of the door, unscrew and remove the lid on the processor box, push to open the lock on the connector and remove the ribbon cable, clean the end of the cable by light rubbing with a non-abrasive pencil eraser, put the cable back in the connector and lock. Reassemble. Full operation was restored.
