Purchased my Maytag in August 2003. Last week my wife left the door partially open all night and since then the frig box will not cool. Freezer works fine. Any suggestions as to what the problem might be. Just called Maytag and they want $139.00 per hour to look at it.

Check inside the freezer for frost build up on and behind that freezer back panel.

Your air tunnel duct that lets the cold freezer air blow into the refrigerator section may be clogged with frost/ice from the door being left open.

In this diagram #11 is the air tunnel and #16 is the control console that you can lower to access that air tunnel:
