maytag mah4000awq front loader
Wondering if someone could help with a problem. I have a loud buzz which comes from the unit. It seems to go through the cycles Ok. This noise seems to becoming from the bottom of the unit, but can't be certain. I had the board repaired and wax motor replace earlier. All was well until this buzz. Doesn't do it the whole time. Any ideas?

Hi,
If its what I'm thinking off, its a solenoid doing that, but i hear this on most of the Maytag front loaders. Is everything still working ok though?

Hi Jake,
Yes all seems to work fine. The buzz is constant but unnoticable most of the time. It seems that right before a cycle change is when it gets loud.
Thank You,
Pat J

You said you had the control board repaired? Not replaced with a new one?

Yes, it was repaired. I sent it to another bloger who replaced the R11 and triade (transistor?), and upped the resistance a tad and the voltage on the triade. A new black pin wax motor too was installed. This was done when the door lock button wouldn't light and the machine seemed to just go through the motions of the timer, which left everything soaking wet when finished. It worked great for several months. It still works fine except the noise. It seems to happen right passed the point where it says light wash on the timer and then again when it's about to go into the rinse cycles. The door lock button is functioning.

I would recommend getting a brand new control board, repairing them seems to last a little while, but the not for good.
Then if you haven't had the motor upgraded to the new kit, that should be done as well.

Its very costly to do these things, so if you can live with the noise, you would save alot of money, till it brakes for good.
