I am starting to regret purchasing all new Maytag appliances about 3 years ago!

Hello all - yet another Maytag problem from me......

My Maytag oven uses propance for fuel. Two things are going on with this unit.....

Problem #1. When I turn on the oven, the temp will stay at about 135 and not increase. The only way that I can get the overn to increase to the desired/set temp is to turn on one of the burners on the top of the stove. Usally as soon as I turn on a burner, I hear the oven's burner kick in and the oven will then heat up to the desired setting.

Problem #2. While the oven is on, I will occassionally hear the sound of gas igniting - - - sound like the sound you hear when you turn on a gas onthe stove top and ignition of the gas is delayed (singed armhair - if you know what I mean).

I would appreciate the group's assistance on these issues.

thanks,

Kerry (The SadMaytag Owner)

Hi,

**My Maytag oven**

Model#?

http://www.applianceaid.com/model.htmlSome model# helps.

A weak oven hot surface ignitor would give at leass one of those problems....possibly both...

http://www.applianceaid.com/gas.html#glowIf yours model uses a hot surface ignitor for the oven.

jeff.
