Default trouble shooting fan for MTB1956GEQ

Hello!

First time posting, fan stopped working. Before purchasing new part, any thing I should be doing to isolate problem to make sure fan motor is burnt out. Thanks for any help!

I should have mentioned that the fan was sputtering and was making noise also before it died out.

Hi,

Sounds like the bearing went out on it, you can get a volt meter and see if its getting 120 volts to the fan motor, if 120 volts is present, then your fan motor is shot.

Which fan motor is it, the freezer(evaporator) or condenser fan motor?

Whats the serial#?

Hi Jake,

The fan in the freezer, have to buy new tester. Darn thing is so old, it has a bad fuse I believe. Going to off to buy one now. Thanks for your speedy reply Jeff!

Doesn't seem to be giving any juice, tested voltage meter and it works properly.
Inserted red prong into female receptor and black prong to the coils in back of freezer to ground. Want to make sure I am doing this properly.

Fan motor part # UDQR002MGL

Put the leads in the complete receptor, 1 on each side.

Going to order new motor, i best have rush delivered. I saw some racoons outside the fence plotting on my stash.

Thats good you have voltage to it, that motor will take care of it.

That fan motor part# UDQR002MGL didn't show up, was there another part# that you ordered by?
