Default MSD2456GE Freezer Leaking water

I did some searches and I'm at a loss as to what to replace next. Here is what is going on:

MSD2456GE - We started to get water intermitently from the freezer, in addition we would get a build up of ice on the bottom of the freezer. I would go through the drill of removing the ice and melting the ice over the drain hole using a hair dryer and hot water. I also shut off the water supply to ice maker. Unfortunately the rate of water and ice leaking seems to be speeding up (could be because of the warmer weather).

Also I recently noticed a build up of frost through out the rest of the freezer which I never noticed before.

What should I be testing/replacing next?

Thanks in advance for your help

Hi,

Missing the last digit.

On the floor, inside?

Quote:

Defrost drain may be clogged/restricted and the defrost water is spilling out inside.

New/another problem
Door not closing properly, ice dispensor door staying open are common trouble makers.

Jeff thanks for the reply

On the sticker on the door it says MSD2456GE*, should I look somewhere else?

The water leaks out onto the floor, plus there is a build up of ice on the floor of the freezer engulfing the bottom bin. The drain keeps freezing up, I keep thawing it out with heat and hot water and within a few days I have an inch of ice on the bottom of the freezer and water dripping out onto the floor. I'll check the ice/flap.

Where does the water go from the defrost bin? Does it just evaporate into the kitchen?

Certainly sounds like a drain issue.

Drips from the evaporator ( cooling ) coils onto a pan, from the pan into a drain hose and from the hose to a tray under the refrigerator, the heat from the compressor makes the water evaporate and disappear.
