Default Help with MSD2756GES

Maytag Side by Side not cooling on Fridge side. Coolest Temp around 43 at the highest setting. Also a shelf bracket stud is broken. This stud connectes through the main wall of the fridge to an inner wall. Could this be letting warm air in? Also any ideas for fixing the shelf bracket. My local repair shop didn't call me back when I told them about this! Fridge is about 7 years old. All help is appreciated. Thanks

No, that stud being broken wouldn't cause it to warm up.

Check inside your freezer behind your back freezer panel for frost build-up, if so, then its a good chance your defrost board is bad.

Thanks for your help. I removed the coil cover in the freezer and the coils are clear of ice. Any suggestions. Thanks. Also, any ideas on fixing the broken stud. It appears the stud would need to be replaced by going outside the fridge wall. Thanks again.

Its possible your auto-damper that controls the flow of cold air inside your refrigerator section may be stuck in a closed position, this can get very complicated to repair on your own, I would suggest getting the Repair Manual if you wanted to fix it yourself.

The shelf stud could be replaced, but I would have to actually look at it myself to let you know. You could take the broken stud to your local appliance parts store , and they may have a kit to install a new one.

Jake,

Thanks for your message. I have noticed that there is a low volume of cold air coming from the vent in the top of the unit. Is there a chance that the fan is not working? Thanks

Yes, check your freezer fan, and make sure its blowing fast.
