Default Icemaker Expert Needed

I replaced the Icemaker on my Maytag model MSD2456GEW refrigerator and the new icemaker seems to be cycling properly, but it does not fill with water. The water dispenser in the door works and the water solenoid valves checked out fine. When I run a harvest cycle all the readings at the test points on the icemaker head check out. (Specifically – about 7 seconds of 110 volts to the solenoid valve near the end of the cycle, measured at test points N & V) but when I check the voltage at the solenoid valve connector I get a constant 60 volts that drops to 0 at the same time I read the 7 seconds of 110 at the icemaker head. ???? When I remove the icemaker unit from the freezer I continue to get a constant 60 volts at the solenoid valve connector. I am Totally lost !!!

Replace the water valves , both of them , and be done with it . There is one before the filter , and one after the filter .

The first one comes on for water OR ice , the second valve has a solenoid for each item .

Part #12001892 , and 61005626 .

Default Ice Maker

Maytag controls a lot of their stuff on the return side, meaning they power the device and open and close the neutral wire to activate them. Your old Ice Maker completed the path to the neutral, energizing the valve. Your new one sends power to the valve to energize it. Both sides of the valve are being connected to the same "HOT" wire and thus going to zero volts during energize. Disconnect the plug from the valve to verify this. Check for 120 volts from the red wire to ground. Next, check for 120 volts to ground on the tan wire during Ice Maker fill time. If you get 120 on both, you need to disconnect the red wire from the valve and wire that valve terminal to the neutral (white) wire or to a good ground point.
