Unhappy Maytag DE510 Series 01 Problems...

I'm trying to fix a 20+ year old Maytag DE510 Series 01 Dryer. It gets way too hot and keeps getting hot. I've replaced all three thermostats, also replaced the heater element, and made sure all the duct work was clean and open. It's still getting hot...I read somewhere on the internet that a resistor in some electric dryers can cause a similar problem but can't seem to find a resistor on the dryer schematic. Is there a chance that the resistor is built in to the timer??? Anyone have any other suggestions out there this thing has me floored...

Doesn't have one.

Where? Inside, ontop?

Taken any temp reading? What where they?
Checked for any melted/shorted wires that might bypass the thermostat(s)?

Smile Figured it out...???

I thought I'd post my conclusion on this mess...I reinstalled the the Hi-Limit thermostat turned the other way. The original thermostat's terminals were both flat with the body of the thermostat. The new thermostat had a flat terminal and one turned out at 90 degrees. When I removed the defective one I couldn't determine which way was which, the writing was worn off. So installed the best I could "assuming" direction wound not make a difference??? I found out that it does appear to matter because when it was reinstalled with the 90 degree end towards the floor it started working. Something I learned through this whole thing I guess...Anyone know for sure if this is the case??? Does it's mounting direction really matter???
