Default New Magic Chef 5.3 Cu Freezer whacked out!?

Purchased approx 7 months ago. We have had several power outages due to wind over the past 2 weeks.

There's a green Power Light.

A red Thermostat Light.

A Yellow Light/switch Fast freeze light.

The only thing that works is the Fast Freeze switch. The switch works, it lights, the compressor engages so the unit is getting power.

The green power light and the Red thermostat are a dead stick.

Any thoughts? Thanks much... Bill

Sounds like your power outage caused an issue with this, Contact Magic Chef to have a tech. come out to look at it under warranty.

Thanks Jake, I did that but this is going to be a massive hassle.

I have to TAKE it to a service ctr 35+ miles away, and since I am a dope and can't find the reciept, I am paying. I can't even get a tech to give me advise as to if this sounds like more $ to fix than the $300 for the unit
(like getting a VCR repaired! LOL)

I was hoping this was simply a fuse in the unit etc......

I would contact Magic Chef again, because you shouldn't need the receipt to get it repaired under warranty, the serial# has the date it was made encoded in it.

Unfortunately they gave me the big "Sorry Charlie" with no receipt. I contacted home depot to see if they record it but since it was a normal carry out, no dice there either. I have viewed many of you responses on this sight and have to say, you know your "stuff".

This is a tricky one I know but thanks for the input!

Thanks Bill, Sorry to hear they won't fix it under warranty.
