Default Another Maytag dishwasher wont drain

I have a Maytag dishawasher, about 5 years old, which does not drain at the end of the cycle. I dont have the model nuimber with me.

It does drain between wash, rinse, etc.

If after the cycle is complete, I start a new cycle, the first thing that happens is the washer drains, then I can open the washer, and turn the dial all of the way to off.

I cant do the "start a new cycle" thing until the timer has gone all of the way through the dry zone to off. I dont know if this is heat releated, or finishing the cycle related.

Sometimes, about 1 cycle out of 10, it will drain by its self.

I replaced the impeller shortly before this problem appeared, but it worked for a few weeks with the new impeller (I think).

I have checked the drain hose.

Oh, I finaly did hear the end of a rinse cycle last weekend (this has been going on for many months), at the end of rinse, it sounded like there was a 1 or 2 second attempt at draining.

Any ideas?

Hi,

We would need the model# to help you.

There is a diagnostics test you can do if this is an electronic controlled model.

Thanks,

You have the mechanical timer controlled model. It sounds to me like you have an intermittent timer contact thats going bad in the last drain.

Here is a new timer kit for this model you can order:
