Default warm compressor

I have the maytag msd2756geb and have read the other blogs on no cooling. I did find that the relay overload switch does in fact rattle when removed but the other question i have is wether or not the compressor should feel warm. It has been off for awhile now and even earlier it was very warm but not hot. I do not have ability to check to see if continuity is ok for compressor. When the clicking noise happens it does not appear to be making the compressor run.

The compressor can still be warm just by your overload/relay trying to start your compressor.

If your not able to check for continuity on that overload/relay or compressor, I would take that overload/relay down to your local appliance parts store on Monday and they can test it for you. If its good, then you know for sure its your compressor.

All compressors come with a 5 yr. parts & labor warranty.

my only local parts house. they had to order the part online and it was similar but not the same thing.( they are claiming that maytag is now owned by whirlpool ) it hooked up easily and after what appeared to be an intial "no start" startup...it clicked and the compressor started. Its now cold enough for the auto ice machine to be making ice and the food compartment is getting colder. Looks like you fixed it for me. If you dont hear from me again it means the thing is working.... Thanks again ...ty ty ty ty.... mike
