I realizes there can be numerous reasons for this, BUT....is there a common or typical reason why these Maytag Adaptive Defrost controls (ie: 61005988) fail...???

Nope, its a complete mystery to me, we all can make alot of guesses but I haven't heard any of them to be on target.

Just look at the size of the relay on the board! When there is a power line surge this relay supplies compressor current that is more than it is rated for!!

Is there is Diagnostic Procedure for this ADC...???

If the Heater and Limit are good, then it is a form of "rule out" to determine if bad...??

Process of elimination. So far I haven't nad to replace a replacement ( the one with the white plastic housing ).
