Maytag MSD2556AEW Ice dispenser comes on by itself
Unit is a 1999 model, side by side. Ice maker works fine and turns off when putting arm up.
I was getting ice from the door last night and it would not stop sending ice down the shoot. The auger just kept running. Eventually (after a few minutes) it stopped and now the auger starts every 6 min. 10 seconds (to the second) and runs for 1 min. 52 seconds. This cycle has not stopped since last night. The flap stays closed unless you press the button. The water works fine. I put it on lock (when it wasn't running) and it came on again anyway, which is the same when it is on water. So now I have the ice tray out (since it started) and the auger wheel in the back of the freezer spins on this precise schedule. Any ideas?

You will need a new dispenser control board and a new limit switch.
