maytag performa - washer spins, but clothes still too wet
Hi, we have a Maytag Performa PAV2200AWW. The washer still goes through the specified cycles, but the clothes are too wet after the spin cycle. The tub does spin during the spin cycle, but I don't think it is up to the correct speed. The clothes would normally be plastered to the sides of the tub until recently.
What can I look for? I am willing to fix it myself (if it is worth it) if you can give me some possible ideas.
Thank you in advance.

Ok, I grease the motor pivot plate and it does more better, but it did not fix the problem. In fact the problem has worsened. The drum will not turn at all during the spin cycle.
I fear the problem is in the transmission. Looking from underneath while in the spin cycle, the drum pulley turns fine as does the shaft that the pully attaches to. However, the drum does not move. I emptied the wet clothes and put it into the spin cycle and it did spin. Next I held the agitatetor with my hand and started the spin cycle and it would not spin. In other words, it doesn't take much "load" to prevent the drum/agitatetor form turning.
Is there anything else I can look for to rule out the transmission? Is the transmission serviceable? Thanks in advance.

The internal parts of the transmission are not serviceable.
If your washer is under 5 yrs. old, you still have a warranty on it, just for the part, not labor to replace it.
