My Maytag Fridge which was purchased in 2004, suddenly started making buzzing noises coming from the compresser and it was clicking on and off every 30 secs or so and the fridge and freezer stopped cooling but the air was still coming out. So I made a appt with Maytag for 1 week later today. I unplugged the fridge for 5 days, last night I plugged it in so that the repairman could see what was going on and now everything works. What could this be should I cancel the appt. I don't want to be charged $90 for diagnostic visit. Thanks

Very likely, this problem will come back and repeat itself. There is a good possibility that the start relay is bad. Another possibility is that the compressor is going bad. If it is a bad compressor, then don't worry, you have a 5 year compressor warranty from the factory.
