Default MSD2732GR More Buzzing & Clicking

I wanted to return my Maytag from the start. The freezer can freeze ice cream hard as granite, but the fridge is many miles away from BEER-COLD. I've tried all the suggestions from the service people, but they were all no-brainer things. Additionally, the ice maker constantly is troublesome. It jams, it almost never dispenses ice properly, and even the water dispenser is poor design. Nonetheless, I didn't have anyone out and have lived with the piece of poo (my stupid).

However, 2.5 years down the road, the back bottom (compressor area) has been buzzing loudly, then clicking. For a while it just seemed the fridge was acting up, but still working fine. Now it's not working fine. It's warming up ... failing. If I unplug for an hour or more, it will fire up just fine for a period of time before cratering again. I've read the post about the start relay/overload device, and I'm thinking that's where I should start. So, I have questions & comments:
1. What part number for my MSD2732GR?
2. What if I never sent in my warranty documents (registered), will it still be honored should the repair be covered (compressor)?
3. I've read numerous similar complaints with this massive paper weight, at what point is a manufacturer held accountable for inferior products?
4. My S/S stainless cost me 1,200. It's my 6-7th major appliance purchase, and it qualifies easily as the biggest hunk crud to date. Maytag should be ashamed.

If I call a repair guy out and it is not warranty covered, I'm in trouble. I have had some major family expenses and I do not have a nickle to spare. That's really why I'm here!

Thank you in advance!
Joe

If it's the compressor or just the relay, the best way to find out is simply changing out the relay and seeing if it works. If it is still giving you problems, then the compressor needs to be replaced (most likely not worth it). Since it is less than 5 years old, it is covered by the factory 5 year warranty for compressors.

For the model #, click the orange banner on the top right corner of your screen, and have your model # ready (it is inside your refrigerator).

Thank you for your help! I'm trying to figure out the best way to go on this relay. I had a guy install a start kit on my AC condenser on a failing compressor about 7 years ago. It's been perfect since.

Please check this link and tell me if this would work?

I don't recommend using that 3 in 1 hard start kit, unless your refrigerator was made before 1990.

Okay, then can you assist me in finding what would work? I went to the banner at the top of the page and entered my info, but the list of parts my search returned didn't seem to contain the relay I was looking for. Again, it's a Maytag MSD2732GR.

Thanks!

Your missing a letter after your R in the model#. These are the results I get:
Model NumberModel DescriptionBrand
MSD2732GRQMAYTAG REFRIGERATIONMAYTAG
MSD2732GRSMAYTAG REFRIGERATIONMAYTAG
MSD2732GRWMAYTAG REFRIGERATIONMAYTAG

Also we need your serial#, thanks.
These numbers should be located inside your refrigerator section, on the top ceiling or interior walls.

I see now that the inside has 2 stickers. The first sticker on the door is the most obvious. It's model number is MSD2732GR*. The sticker on the ceiling is MSD2732GRS ... and the serial number is 11789086EL.

Thank you for your help!
