Hello. I've read a couple of the recommendations that you've made to some of the other users and wondering if my fridge might benefit from the same type troubleshooting/repair. I've replaced the defroster bar in the freezer section where it is still freezing up to where I have to go through the thawing out of the frost sorrounding the coils. What should be my next course of action? Does this particular refrigerator have the chip that you have discussed in other blog recommendations? I'm at a loss of what else to do. I've already spend over a $100 to have someone come out and thaw my freezer but that did not fix the problem. If you can, please provide me with a URL as to where I should do my next troubleshooting from. Thanks.

No, yours doesn't have a control board that controls the defrost system.
You have a defrost timer. Here is the parts diagram for your model: MTB1954ARW Diagram#2 part location#12 is your defrost timer, just get a flathead screwdriver and turn it till you hear a loud snap, then it will be in defrost. If you don't notice your defrost heater(diagram#3 part location#9) come on and you already replaced it, then the only other part that controls your defrost is your defrost thermostat(diagram#3 part location#12). Here is another good help link for this issue: http://www.applianceaid.com/frig_notcold.html#ff Jake
