Question Admiral side by side

My daughter has an Amdmiral side by side that she thinks she needs to have a new defrost timer installed on. Is this a project she can easily manage by herself or should she call in the experts? It appears that the part is located behind the kickplate, is it easily accessible?

Hi hogan181,

Admiral refrigerators usually have their defrost timers mounted behind the refrigerator. Amana refrigerators have theirs behind the kick plate, in either case both are fairly easy to replace. Two screws and quick disconnect on both. Let me know if you need help. Good-luck

I remember the older Admirals had the defrost timer in the front behind the bottom kickplate.

Whats the model# of the refrigerator? and we can tell you exactly.
