Default Neptune washer cold water won't fill

Hello, We have a Maytag Neptune model # MAH5500BWQ that won't let cold water in. If it's set on warm it only fills with hot water and if it's set on cold only it just doesn't fill at all. I'm thinking maybe a solenoid valve is bad on the incoming cold water? I do have cold supply coming in as I'm working around it right now by swithing hot and cold hoses and setting it to hot. Jake has helped me on our double oven and figured I'd ask here before I even checked it out. Thanks for any help pointing me in the right direction.
Thanks, Mark Thompson

Hi Mark,

You're on the right track, probably need to replace the water valve. There are three water valves for that model make sure you know what series you have if you have to replace it.

Thanks Rick,
I'm ordering the water valve now. The first 2 digits of the serial# is the series#, right? After looking on several of the parts websites it looks like there is a series 10, 83, and 87. My serial # starts with 85. One of the sites said serial #s 83 and above use series 83 (part#22003834). Does that sound right?
Again, thanks for your help. Mark

Yes, thats correct. Series 87 would be the serial#'s starting with 87 and up. So series 83 is what you need.

Here is the cheapest price I found on your water valve:
Part#22003834
Water inlet valve w/thermistor
