Default Maytag electric range problems

I own 8 rental units in Houston, and bought last year all appliances from Maytag, and as an American Engineer I feel let down as :

Had the same costly problem in two of my electric ranges, which just missed the one year warranty - they are 14 month old.

model # MER5552BAW - Maytag free standing electric range

PROBLEM :

On bake mode, both top and botton element remain on, burning the cookies....

Was adviced by Maytag repair that Clock w/overlay needs to be replaced part cost $ 180 !!!!

Anyone with the same problem ?

I have never had issue personally, but I can tell you from experience that a lot of times maytag/whirlpool corporation will assist with repair costs if you're only 2-3 months outside your warranty. Call them, tell them the tech's diagnosis, be polite but stick to your guns. You'll be surprised wherer it might get you, especially if you own multiple appliances. Try to have all your model and serial #'s available when you call them, the more money you've invested in their company, the more money they are more likely to invest in you.
