Angry Maytag MSD2732GRW Ice Door Assy ?

About 2 weeks ago, the door "flapper" broke in our ice dispenser. I found what looks to be the correct replacement part (940463 on repairclinic.com). My question is - how difficult is it to replace this part? Also - more general question.Ever since we purchased this refrigerator, when we dispense ice, then water (or for that matter water then ice), you have to count maybe as much as 3 seconds before the system changes over from dispensing one to the other. It is annoying as all get go. I spoke to the people in Home Depot (where I bought it) and I got the "oh well response". Is this normal and if not, what needs to be done to make the system more responsive. As a more general rant, we also purchased a Maytag dishwasher and are *very* dissapointed with it. You should plan on putting clean dishes in if you want clean dishes out. When I went onto the Maytag.com site to provide feedback, I got a robo-answer. Very dissapointing to see a premiere brand such as Maytag go downhil based on my (limited) experience. Thanks for any help.MPF

There is a kit for this:
www.applianceblog.com/manuals/maytagfountain.pdf

Here is the one for your model:
Solenoid and door kit, ice dispenser

There is about a 3 sec. delay when switching between the ice and water. I have noticed this on other models too.

Default Thank You - worked perfectly

Installation was much easier than I expected. The instructions that came with the parts were very clear. It took maybe 10 minutes to do the repair.MPF
