Default Magic Chef Microwave MVP III vm11eb-8p

Have power to unit. Display comes on and accepts input. The lamp in unit interior off and the microwave function (start) does not work. Basically the unit is dead for heating and cooking. The fan and bottom light work fine. The touch screen is working fine. Note: some times in past unit would trip circuit breaker. A reset and unit worked fine for months of use. Vent is clear. Any direction would help. Unit is well maintained has served us well since 1993. Would love to bring her back if economically feasible. Joe

I would suspect a a bad door switch (top or bottom, depending on your model number) or door switch mount.

These are usually pretty easy problems to fix yourself.

You can find helpful exploded view diagrams and order parts by entering your full model number here.

At our Web site, we have a video available showing how to remove a typical over the range control panel assembly in under 5 minutes.

If you need further help, reply back with your full model number from the tag on the unit.

As I said, the door switch mounts, and please reply back with your full model number from the tag on the unit.
