Default What line do you recommend?

We hae an over-the-oven that has been acting up and it's only 5-6 yrs. old - we had it put in new, didn't notice that it looks like it has been dropped, small crack in the front and it doesn't sit evenly. Now, it's hit or miss whether it will work or not, can't afford another over-the-range (and dont want one, I'm petite and didn't realize the disadvantages). - Anybody have recommendations for a regular counter-top reasonably price one? (Just need to heat up leftover or occasionaly frozen meals). Thanks.

There is no one brand that stands out among the others. Most have a one year warranty and can be purchased for under $100. Some things to consider when shopping; A turntable will heat frozen dinners evenly without having to stop half way through to rotate it. More watts= faster cook times. Think about the biggest thing you put into a microwave and make sure you get one big enough.

Thanks, I did look at some at Linens 'n Things (happened to be there), Macy's - a brand I'm not familiar with. Largest we would put in would be a dinner plate

I've checked some online prices: Target, Bed, Bath & Beyond, Walmart (although I HATE that store and don't want to go there...), Kohl's, KMart (another don't want to go there store).

All I can figure is we want at least 800-900 watts, from what I picked up in Consumer Reports.

I really want to spend only about 50 bucks or so and not deal w/the built-in one (we'll give a credit or something when we sell).

If you have a Lowes or Home Depot near you check them out. They have just what you're looking for and the same price you're looking for.
