Maytag Over the Hood Microwave

When operating the microwave, the display will indicate "close door" and the countdown will freeze yet machine will continue to run but not heat. Is this a bad switch? Thanks!!!

That's what it sounds like. Use an ohmmeter to check it for continuity. You can access it by removing the control panel. There is a single screw holding the control panel on but you'll need to remove the grill to get to it. Always remove at least one wire from the switch you're testing. Test the switch by opening and closing the door. There's probably two or three switches in the latch assembly. Test all of the switches. UNPLUG THE MACHINE FIRST.
