Default gas ranges

Have several different gas ranges in rental units,so I have a question in general,no particular model. In the oven is the 120volt power to the bake and broil glow bars supplied thru the thermostat? If you check the leads to the igniters with the thermostat set to 350,should you have power to the connector to the igniter?Thank you for your time.

Yes, you should have 120 volts at your oven bake & broil glow bar igniter's when you turn the thermostat on bake or broil.

I always take the plastic connector off, that the glow bar connects to, and test for 120 volts, with a volt meter, with the thermostat on.

Thank you for your reply.I had thought that 120 volts should be present at that connector,if not then can I assume that there is a problem in the wiring or a thermostat problem?Thank you again for your time,Happy New Year.

Yes, if 120 volts isn't present at the igniter connector with the thermostat on, then you have a bad thermostat or bad control board if its a touchpad electronic type.
