Default Dacor pcd230 Double Convection Oven

Hi,

Last night during dinner we had lightning strike the tree in our neighbors yard. Afterwards we noticed the clock on the Dacor oven showing "77"...I threw the circuit breakers, came back into the kitchen and the oven's display was completely off...Pressed cancel, and the display came on displaying "77".

The light comes on, but the rest of the oven is non-responsive. I have a hunch as to whats wrong, but would appreciate an experts opinion...as well as a parts source and service manual.

Many thanks,
James

No lights flickered or other home electric problems? 77 is not a fault code or anything I can find. I know it sounds lame but try leaving the breaker off for 10min and turn back on. There is no fuse that i see and the best i would say is the "ERC"/clock. Service manuals are for auth techs and you might be able to order part direct by contacting cust svc or buying off of a servicer. it could indicate a problem with your electricity- should check oven supply voltage before ordering parts, but know what you're doing.

Well..actually...the entire house lost electricity...the plasma tv and all the electronics (on surge-supressor) went out...but came back on...the hair on the back of my neck stood on end etc..etc..etc... it was THAT close...

BUT...

just the oven seems to have gotten fried...

I'll try as you suggest...and see if it manages to reset...

many thanks!

Well...that didn't work...left the breaker off all night...no joy when i re-engaged it this morning. Any chance replacing the breaker might help? The oven lights work...but the display continues to read "77"...

I'm wondering if anybody ever heard of a damaged breaker causing strange behavior in their appliances - grasping at straws...i know...
