Default Gas oven trips circuit breaker

My tenants notified me that the oven repeatedly tripped the circuit breaker while baking last night. The oven would light (from an electric spark) but after it got up to temperature and the gas shut off it would not relight and they noticed the breaker was tripped. THis happened several times while baking the meal. THey have used the oven many times without problems previously. THe only other thing on the circuit are 4 other outlets. Of the outlets, the only one being used was by a microwave that was not even on. IT is a 20 amp breaker as well. Could something in the range (the transformer?) be causing the problem?

Of course the range can be causing the breaker to trip. Any electrical short within this appliance can cause the breaker problem, but my first guess is a weak circuit breaker.

Usually, if the appliance is causing this kind of problem, the breaker will go off immediately upon turning the range on.

Since the oven works for a bit and then trips the breaker, this could just be an over-sensitive breaker...

Good luck.
