Whirlpool Self-Cleaning Electric Range door won't unlock
Hello,
I am having an issue with my Whirlpool Self-Cleaning Electric Range Model-RF364PXKW.
My wife attempted to use the self-clean feature yesterday and decided to shut it off/cancelled because she heard a funny noise. Unaware that this happened I preheated the oven to make a birthday cake like any other time and placed the cake in the oven and shut the door. I set the timer and when I went to open the door when the timer went off, the door would not open (still won't now either). In frantically trying to save the cake I came upon the manual and couldn't remedy the issue. Needless to say the control panel shows the code F5-E1. Which after searching this informative forum, I am guessing I need to replace the door latch.
My first question is can I somehow override the control to get the door open?
Secondly, is this a repair I can handle myself or should I defer to a Whirlpool repair tech?
Thanks for your help in advance.

Hi,
You will need to unplug your range, then it out from the wall, then open the back access panel, by removing the screws, then you will see your lock latch motor switch assembly, here is a photo of it, you can also click the photo for pricing/ordering information:
Oven door lock motor and switch assembly
Here is your online service sheet that will tell you what to do on Page #2 for the F5-E1 Error code:
