Default Freezer worked b4 storage- not cooling at all now

Hello All,

I have a Monkey Wards Signature 2000 upright freezer, approx 10 yrs old. The sticker on the door says model # 46351 but I have had no luck searching w/ that number. I'm guessing its about 10 yrs old but only used about 3 yrs, it used to work fine.

It has not been used for several yrs but no longer gets cold. I can hear the motor run, I had it on all day yesterday and it did not cool 1 degree. I can only think it has a coolant leak and has lost its charge.

Could it be something more simple, repair myself or have serviced?

Is it worth fixing or should we consider replacement w/ new, more effecient model?

If you can post the serial# we could tell you when it was made.

If the compressor is running but not cooling at all, it sounds like either a freon leak or bad compressor/sealed system restriction, either way, it would cost more to repair than what its worth.
