Default Buned motor

what can cause a refrigrator/freezer motor winding to be burnt when there is an overload protector on the motor? thats what happened to mine.

That's not a motor, you are talking about the compressor.

The only motors in a refrigerator / freezer are the evaporator fan motor and the condenser fan motor.


Compressors can burn out from lack of freon or oil, overheating, etc. You try replacing the 3N1?

The windings inside the compressor burn out and it reads open on an ohm meter. The overload could of clicked open and then reset itself.
