Default Indesit chattering noise

Our Indesit fridge recently had its thermostat replaced, and ever since, it makes an irregular chattering noise when the compressor runs - sounds a bit like something is hitting styrafoam inside the body somewhere. Any clues?

If the thermostat wasn't properly anchored into place, the vibration can cause it to rattle on a panel.

Thanks, Kevin

is it anchored other than at the main housing in the front? i.e. is the metal coil also anchored somewhere? and how would i get at it?

That depends on the exact model. If the thermostat was just replaced though you should have a service warranty on the work performed. Maybe rattling in the control compartment where it is housed.
