Replaced starter relay on KitchenAid KSRS25FGWH03.
Manufacturer’s Number: 8201799 Rattled when shook like Blog instructions by Jake to TLR02 said. Was so excited as immediately the freezer froze, and refrigerator cooled down. Lasted all afternoon yesterday, all night, but when got home this evening both sides were warm again. Am very depressed as I thought I had actually fixed something. No monies for repair tech. Thanks in advance for your help. |

Hi,
Re-check all the wiring connections when you installed the new start relay, a connector may have been loose and came free. Jake

Jake, thanks. Last evening, for reasons unknown, after the refrigerator had been about 50 degrees and the freezer around 10 degrees, it all started working again. In fact, last night the freezer on "high maximum" setting even went down to -10 degrees! This morning, the refrigerator, on "normal middle" setting is 39 degrees and the freezer on "normal middle" setting is 10 degrees. Nothing changed, i.e. I didn't move the unit or any other thing. When can I be confident it's working and invest in food again to fill it up without fearing losing all the food again? Thanks in advance for your help and prompt reply.

Give it about 24 hours to stabilize.
Make sure your condenser coils underneath your refrigerator are clean, either vacuum or brush them out, or even use an air compressor/compressed air to blow them out. ![]() Jake
