Default ge brands vs whirlpool brands refrig

Hey guys , easy question, I am in the market for a new side by side. looking 1k-2k price range. Is there any preference you would have on brand reliability or ease of maintenance? I thought ge used to be junk but may be better now. kinda like their profile stanless series. the kitchen aid looks nice also. I used to have an amana that was made before the buyout by ge. the roller drawers were nice. I originally started looking at the basic models without all the electronic stuff. also how are the indoor ice systems as far as reliability? thanks,j.d. oh i did see you booklet on troubleshooting the indoor ice makers

Hi,

Amana was bought out by Maytag in 2001, then Whirlpool bought Maytag in 2006.

We have had multiple issues with the GE Motherboards and fan motors, in the last few years, so I'd stay away from those for now.

The KitchenAid, Whirlpool, Maytag, Kenmore made by Whirlpool(model# starting with 106) are all good and reliable.
