Question Samsung french door fridge RFG297AARS leaking from bottom

Howdy, great forum! We recently bought a RFG297AARS model that was slightly used. From the beginning, I noticed a small leak onto the bottom tray as the back access panel was off during startup. I didn't think much of it until last week (which is 3 months later) when the entire floor under the fridge and tray is wet. So it's been doing it for awhile, but it's a slow enough leak that evaporates before coming out from under the fridge and I saw while cleaning. I don't think it's still under factory warranty, so are there any obvious things I can check before I call a tech? I have pics of everything also that I can post later. Thanks.

Hi,

I don't work on Samsung appliances, but other techs. may and can assist you.

If no one replies, I can refund the $5 Lifetime Membership fee and you can still keep Lifetime Membership status for other appliances you have.

No problem about a refund regardless Jake, the info I got here helped me fix an old Kenmore washer, so it's all good

Good photos,

I see the problem, you had sealed system work done on it before you purchased it, they over-charged it with too much freon R-134a.

You'll need to have a tech. come out to remove/recover some freon out of it, so that low side doesn't frost up back to your compressor.

Yup, that sounds like where the water is coming from.

Ok, had a tech come out and evac some refrigerant to where the line wasn't icing up but it was still cooling steadily on the set temps. So that's good to go, but now there's ice developing 1 one side of the pull-out freezer door. Could it be a related problem or is it more likely a problem with the door seal?

Its more likely the freezer door seal, check all around your freezer door gasket to make sure there are no gaps in it, it should seal good and tight against your freezer cabinet.

The seal looks to be ok, nice and smooth and it fully engages all around the bottom. It's just kinda funny how I noticed it after the tech came out, but maybe I wasn't paying that much attention before, who knows.

Ok, not sure what to tell you on this freezer seal issue, just keep your eye on it for now.
