In another post, Jake recommended Kenmore refrigerators with model numbers starting with 106. I'm looking at the Sears website and can't find ANY that start with those numbers. Most have something like this:
"Sears item #04679972000 Mfr. model #7997" Am I looking in the wrong place? Any advice would be most appreciated. We need to buy a new fridge and I'm tired of buying ones that don't last. Thanks! -Glenn |

Hi Glenn,
Yes, I've noticed that on the Sears site they don't have the first 3 digits either 106 for Whirlpool made Kenmore's or 253 for Frigidaire made Kenmore's in front of the Sears item# or Mfr. model#. You would need to go to your local Sears store and physically look at their Kenmore refrigerators and open the refrigerator door and you will see the model# tag on the upper walls or ceiling inside the refrigerator section. Then you should see 106 or 253. 596 is Amana, 795 is LG. Jake

Thanks, Jake:
So, if I'm understanding correctly, you would recommend those numbers (106, 253, 596 or 795) as good choices (with 106 being the best choice)? Is that right? Sorry to be thick -- I just want to make a good choice this time. (I've had two bad fridges and don't want a third!) -Glenn |

Yes, exactly in that order, with 106 being the top choice.
