Question

I'm a bit confused on the LED light for the type 2 ice maker... I am led to believe that the led is suppose to be on all the time for the ice maker to work?! Yet my KA being the same model has never had the LED to be "on" and everything has been working fine since purchased 5 years ago. So does the LED just act up when something is "wrong" by sending blinking codes or is my LED not doing what it's suppose to do?

Haha, you are lucky Doug, Yours seems to be still working good with no LED coming on. If you see if start acting up, you will need to order the P.C. Board kit, emitter & receiver

Can't explain why yours is ok, sorry.

OK Jake. Sorry to bring this thread back from the grave again.

I FINALLY got around to buying the boards and now have a solid LED. I cycled power on the freezer. After doing so, the blades were pointed toward the back of the freezer. They slowly turned themselves toward the front of the freezer however dont appear to be all the way down. No water is in the bin. I did make sure that the black tube isn't frozen.

Any suggestions for a next step? Thanks again for the help.

Thats odd, stick something up into that black rubber fill spout, I have seen ice clogs up in there where you can't see it.

The blades are fine.

Default New icemaker

Hopefully this won't be your issue, but about 3 weeks after I repalced the boards, my icemaker just stopped working. After some careful (and maybe not so careful) tinkering, I determined the motor had gone out. While I had it out I also noticed that the ice tray lining (teflon or something like that) had started to peel, so I decided to replace the whole thing. Again, hopefully this isn't your issue, and my icemaker going out at the same time the boards went out was just a coincedence.

Good luck..

That was it man. Far inside the tube it was frozen. Dug it out and all is well now. Thanks again for the help, I really do appreciate it.

Glad to help, and glad you found the extra ice blockage in that rubber fill spout.

Question Help Jake

Ok . now I need more help. ( mod 106.53632300)
I replaced the emitter and receiver boards.(2 BLINKS FOLLOWED BY 1 SEC)
Still no ice. No water. I pured water in the icemaker, it took 2 days to drop the ice.
Is it the motor or the water vavle?
I'm lost.
and can I still buy the hole icemaker
